It’s extra tasty having been marinated for so long. After defrosting, I just cook everything up and serve. However, I will freeze marinated beef for bee-bim bop. Which is good… I can now store my ice cream maker in there. And I absolutely hate defrosting meat in the microwave. They say to never defrost meat at room temperature and instead to put meat in the fridge the night before but I can’t think that far ahead. I thought I was saving money but it ends up a pretty expensive venture for me since I will more than likely toss most, if not all, of the freezer-burnt packages into the garbage. I used to buy meat in bulk from Costco: package it in small, neat, labelled packages and toss in the freezer. At the very back, she even includes her family recipe which is the one I use to marinate the beef. We loved reading Bee-Bim Bop! by Linda Sue Park. According to the book that the princess borrowed from the library, bee-bim bop means “mix mix rice”. It is rice topped with a variety of vegetables and usually beef. Bee-bim what?! Bee-bim bop is a traditional Korean dish.
